James
“Bud” Bodley was
an active participant of Big Brothers Big
Sisters of Mercer County. Living to give and
assist others, he worked on numerous outreach
projects that provided resources and services
for urban youth. He maintained a healthy spirit
for all things sports– especially golf.
With these things in mind, we present the
7th annual tournament in his honor. Thank
you for your participation in this event!
Big
Brothers and Big Sisters of Mercer County
helps vulnerable children beat the odds. The
organization depends on donations to help
recruit volunteer mentors and reach more children.
Funding is used to conduct background checks
on volunteers to ensure child safety and provide
ongoing support for children, families, and
volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting
relationships. National studies have shown
that the Big Brothers Big Sisters programs
improve children’s odds for succeeding
in school, behaving nonviolently, avoiding
drugs and alcohol, and breaking negative cycles.
In 2009, the agency provided much needed services
to 585 children and their families here in
Mercer County.
